Willi Koska

Willi August Werner Koska (born January 9, 1902 in Berlin ; † May 4, 1943 in the USSR ) was a German politician ( KPD ).

Koska attended elementary school from 1908 to 1916. From 1916 to 1920 he completed an apprenticeship as a lathe operator. Since 1916 he belonged to the trade union and since 1917 he was active in the proletarian youth movement. In 1919 he became a district councilor in Berlin. In 1921 he joined the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). In addition to his function as head of the Red Aid (RHD), Koska belonged from 1932 to 1933 as a member of his party for the constituency 18 "Westphalia South" in the Reichstag .

After the National Socialist " seizure of power " he was arrested in a restaurant at Friedrichstrasse station in July 1933 and after interrogation by the Secret State Police, he was taken to a Berlin hospital. From there he was able to escape and move to Paris , where he headed the RHD foreign representation.

From 1935 Koska lived in the USSR. In 1937 he was arrested as part of the Stalin Purge and murdered in 1943.
