William Duncan Silkworth
William Duncan Silkworth (* 1873 ; † 1951 ) was a doctor and specialist in alcoholism in the United States. He was director of Towns Hospital in New York City in the 1930s.
Silkworth was a huge influence on Bill Wilson , co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous . It was through him that Wilson realized that alcoholism is a disease, not a moral weakness.
