William Gibb (life dates unknown) was a Scottish football player .

Career

William Gibb played in his football career at least in the years 1873 and 1874 for the FC Clydesdale from the south of Glasgow . With the club he reached the first final in the history of the Scottish Cup . On March 21, 1874 he lost with Clydesdale the cup final against FC Queen's Park with 0-2.

On March 8, 1873, Gibb came to an international match for Scotland . In the Kennington Oval of London against the English selection , he scored a goal in a 2-4 defeat.

In 1873, Gibb was elected to the board of the Scottish Football Association .
