William Hely Bowes

William Hely Bowes CB , CMG (* 1858 , † 1932 ) was a British officer, Brigadier General last. From June 1918 to June 1919 he commanded the British military mission in Russia.

Bowes entered the service of the British Army with the Royal Scots Fusiliers on August 13, 1879 . He fought in Burma, what is now Northern Pakistan ( North West Frontier ) and India. At the beginning of the First World War he was given command of the 8th Brigade, the 3rd British division in France.
