William Henry DeWitt

William Henry DeWitt (born October 24, 1827 in Smith County , Tennessee , † April 11, 1896 in Chattanooga , Hamilton County , Tennessee) was an American politician from the 19th century .

DeWitt was a member of the Tennessee State Legislature between 1855 and 1857 . As his home state of the Union breaking away , he represented this 1861-1862 in the Provisional Konföderiertenkongress . After the war , he served as judge in Tennessee. He was also a member of the Freemasons .

He died in Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee and was subsequently buried there in Forest Hills Cemetery .
