William J. Reiter

William "Billy" J. Reiter (born August 16, 1889 in Richmond , Virginia , † September 29, 1979 in Hollywood , California ) was an American assistant director who was nominated at the Academy Awards in 1934 for the Academy Award for best assistant director .

biography

Reiter began his career in the Hollywood film industry in 1920 as an assistant director for The Man Who Had Everything and was involved in the creation of twelve other films such as Edgar G. Ulmer's The Black Cat (1934) .

At the Academy Awards in 1934 he was one of the nominees for the Oscar for best assistant director, which was only awarded for a few years.
