William Murphy (politician)

William Murphy ( Irish Liam Ó Murchú , born February 12, 1892 , † November 16, 1967 ) was an Irish politician ( Fine Gael ).

Murphy was elected to the 14th Dáil Éireann in 1951 for the Fine Gael in the Clare constituency. He was re-elected a total of four times in this constituency. When he died in November 1967 during the 18th Dáil, the Fianna Fáil candidate Sylvester Barrett was elected to the Dáil Éireann in the subsequent by- election to fill the vacant seat.
