William Norvin

Karl Peter William Johannes Norvin (born June 7, 1878 in Copenhagen , † August 16, 1940 in Charlottenlund ) was a Danish classical philologist and historian .

Norvin had studied Classical Philology at the University of Copenhagen with Johan Ludvig Heiberg . From 1924 on he held a professorship there. In 1934 he became a member of the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences .

Norvin published among other scientific works the commentaries of Olympiodorus the Younger on Plato's dialogues Phaedo and Gorgias .
