William Olsson (director)
William Sten Olsson (born May 1, 1977 in Gothenburg ) is an award-winning Swedish filmmaker who became internationally known through films such as An American Affair and Förtroligheten .
life and career
William Sten Olsson, born in Gothenburg in 1977, has worked in the film business in various roles since the mid-2000s. He directed his first short film LA Dream in 2004 . The dramatic film production Resenären followed a year later . In 2006 he directed the award-winning short film Rosa for which Olsson also acted as a screenwriter and producer. The film won numerous festival awards.
In 2008 he directed the drama An American Affair with Gretchen Mol , James Rebhorn and Cameron Bright in the leading roles. Five years later, Olsson staged the mystery drama Förtroligheten with Anton Lundqvist, Helena Af Sandeberg and Alba Augustin. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at the Shanghai International Film Festival and was nominated in the Best Film category.
The movie production Lost Girls and Love Hotels with Alexandra Daddario , Carice van Houten and Takehiro Hira is already in progress for 2020 .
