Williams is an impact crater on the northeastern front of the moon , on the northern edge of Lacus Somniorum , west of Cepheus crater and south of Hercules . The rim of the crater is badly eroded and in the northern part flooded by lava.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the English amateur astronomer Arthur Stanley Williams .
