Willy Hesse (entrepreneur)

Wilhelm Hesse (born February 19, 1942 in Arnsberg ) is a German entrepreneur and was President of the South Westphalia Chamber of Crafts until 2019 (Arnsberg Chamber of Crafts until 2007). He has been an honorary citizen of his hometown Arnsberg since 2020.

Life

After elementary school and completed apprenticeship as a roofer, he attended the master school with the degree of master roofer. Willy Hesse took over his parents' roofing business on January 1st, 1970. He has been managing the business to this day as the managing partner of Willy Hesse GmbH in Arnsberg.

From 1976 to 1999 Hesse was head master of the roofers' guild . From 1976 to 1991 he was chairman of the journeyman's examination committee, from 1989 to 1999 vice-president and since November 29, 1999 he has been president of the South Westphalia Chamber of Crafts. Moreover, Hesse since July 2003 Member of the Supervisory Board of Signal Iduna in Dortmund was 2005-2010 Vice President of the West German Chambers of Crafts and 2010-2016 president of the West German Chambers of Crafts . After leaving at his own request, he was appointed honorary president. From 2010 to 2016 Hesse was Vice President of the North Rhine-Westphalian Crafts Day.

From 1984 to 1990 he led the volunteer fire brigade in Arnsberg as the chief fire engine driver. On December 12, 2003 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany. On December 5, 2017, he also received the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Willy Hesse is married and has three sons.
