Willy Reichert (painter)
Willy Reichert (born May 24, 1937 in Munich ) is a German painter.
Life
He probably owes his talent and an eye for the essentials to his parents: his mother was a photographer and his father a church painter. Reichert grew up in Penzing near Wasserburg / Inn. In 1951 he completed an apprenticeship as a painter and graphic artist in Wasserburg / Inn; then he attended the drawing school Heinrich König in Munich in 1954. 1961 began his freelance work. In 1958 his first public participation was in the Great Art Exhibition in the Old Botanical Garden, Munich. He has lived and worked in Wasserburg / Inn since the 1960s.
In 1968 the artistic breakthrough came with the founding of Working Group 68 and the first Wasserburg art exhibition. For many years he remained true to the craft as a restorer. Willy Reichert became known for his atmospheric, dense compositions.
Styles
- Assemblages: new works are based on the basic pattern of a rectangle. This becomes a multi-dimensional work of art by means of overlays with plastic fragments and different materials
- Colored pencil drawings: it is particularly attractive to exhaust the technical possibilities of this simple working material
- Figurative: The aim is not to create a realistic image of the figure, but rather to integrate its body as a mass in an abstract environment
- Still life: the abundance of motifs of the genre still life is almost inexhaustible. It does not matter whether the reproduction is true to detail or not
- Landscapes: The representation of landscapes is about creating a unity in the picture and creating connections between real and abstract forms. Landscapes are set in a new, imaginary light that turns it into something unchangeable
- Animal worlds: The aim is to show the beauty of animals using a wide variety of painting techniques. The pictures are mainly painted in oil and watercolor, very finely drawn or modeled, sometimes realistic, sometimes almost abstract
- Insects: the level of detail in these tiny animals requires a particularly labor-intensive examination. These motifs are taken up to the point of abstraction without losing sight of the subject of "insects"
