Wiltrud Gieseke

Wiltrud Gieseke (* 1947 ) is a German educational scientist , author and emeritus professor for adult education.

Live and act

Gieseke passed the first teaching examination in 1970 in Oldenburg. She received her diploma in educational science in Berlin in 1973. In 1980 he received his doctorate in Münster and in 1987 his habilitation at the University of Oldenburg . From 1973 to 1980 research assistant at the pedagogical office of the German Adult Education Association in Frankfurt / Main - now the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE) in Bonn. 1980 to 1989 academic adviser for adult education at the University of Oldenburg. 1989 substitute professorship for political further education / women's education in Bremen. In 1992 she accepted the chair for adult education at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In the same year she became head of the adult education / further education department at the Institute for Educational Sciences of the Philosophical Faculty IV. In February 2008 she became dean of the Philosophical Faculty IV for two years .

Gieseke received the Federal Cross of Merit in January 2010 for her outstanding scientific achievements and her continuous commitment to the promotion of young female scientists .

Her academic interests lie in the areas of consulting, program and professional research in adult and continuing education. She is the founder of the continuing education program archive at the HU Berlin
