The windmill is a listed building in Klütz in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ).

History and architecture

The previous building was an Erdholländermühle , it burned down in 1901. The Galerieholländer windmill is north of the village. It was built from 1902 to 1904. The eight-sided substructure is solid, the building edges are emphasized like pilaster strips. The eight-sided mill body rises above it. In 1940 a steam boiler was installed and later an electric motor to enable work even when there was no wind. The mill was in operation until 1954. An LPG took over the building in 1960 and mainly produced compound feed there.

In order to preserve the mill, which is threatened by decay, the Klützer popular initiative was founded in 1981 to save the Klützer mill . The last miller donated the mill. It was converted into a restaurant between 1983 and 1985 with the help and material support of various businesses and citizens. The wing cross and the compass rose were preserved, the remaining technical equipment was removed.
