history

Lintig is a rural village with around 600 inhabitants. The place is now a district of Geestland , northeast of Bremerhaven.

The windmill was built in 1872 as a gallery Dutch mill with a compass rose by the mill builder Friedrich Müller from Bremervörde ; In 1873 the miller's house followed with a pigsty. In 1911 the wing and canopy suffered severe wind damage, the canopy was not repaired and partially replaced until 1920. In 1963 the mill received a new wing tip, in 1964 a new gallery and in 1966 two new wings. In 1976 there was again severe wind damage.

In 1982 the mill burned down completely, struck by lightning. It was rebuilt by 1984 with parts of the Bramstedter Mühle from 1871. In 2003 the wings were renewed with aluminum sheet blinds and in 2008 the wind rose.

The functioning mill produces feed and can be viewed daily. It is station 15 on the Lower Saxony Mühlenstraße. The Lintig Mill Association was founded in 1984.
