Tacumshane windmill

The listed windmill of Tacumshane (also Tacumshin , Irish Teach Coimseáin ) in the extreme southeast of County Wexford in Ireland was built in 1846 by Nicholas Moran and was in operation until 1936.

Renovated in the 1950s, the windmill is one of only two intact windmills in Ireland. A rare feature is their straw cap. Driftwood or wreckage that washed up on the coast was used to build the mill . In 1891 there were 13 wind-powered flour mills on Wexford's south coast, Tachumshane being the last.

The key to the tour is available in the nearby "Millhouse Bar".
