Windsor Locks Canal State Park Trail is a state park in the US state of Connecticut that stretches south from the town of Enfield to Windsor Locks . It follows the old towpath on the historic Enfield Falls Canal on the Connecticut River . The trail is 4.5 mi (7.2 km) long.

The original beaten path is graveled today. The trail between the shallows of the Connecticut River on one side and the waterway on the west has beautiful vantage points and hiking, biking and fishing opportunities. In 2016, part of the trail is temporarily closed to protect a breeding pair of bald eagles .
history
The canal was built between 1827 and 1829. Charles Dickens was one of the passengers who used the canal in 1842.
