Winfried E. Frank

Winfried E. Frank (born July 17, 1932 in Perl ; † February 5, 2020 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and from 1970 to 1995 a member of the Saarland state parliament .

Life

After an apprenticeship, journeyman's examination, and further training in the company and technical school, he passed his master's examination as a painter and varnisher in 1955, and in 1957 he took over the grandparents' business that had existed since 1912. From 1960 to 1966 he was a board member of the painters and varnishers guild Merzig, Obermeister from 1966 to 1973. He was board member of the painters and varnishers guild of the Saarland, at the same time board member of the main association of the German painters and varnishers trade, member of the general assembly and member of the board. From 1974 to 2004 Winfried E. Frank was President of the Chamber of Crafts in Saarland, member of the Crafts Council of the ZDH, President of the Interregional Crafts Council of the Chambers of Saar-Lor-Lux and Rhineland-Palatinate, established on his initiative.

As a member of the Saarland Landtag (1970–1995), he was economic policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group and state chairman of the CDU Saar's SME Association for ten years. Frank is honorary chairman of the middle class association of the CDU Saar and an honorary member of the federal board of the CDU / CSU middle class association.

On January 24, 1995, Frank was awarded the Saarland Order of Merit.

Winfried E. Frank Foundation

At their meeting on December 2, 2004, the members of the Saarland Crafts Foundation decided to honor the achievements of Winfried E. Frank during his time as President of the Saarland Chamber of Crafts by renaming the foundation, which was established in 1976. The foundation is now called the Saarland Handicraft Foundation - Winfried E. Frank Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to promote state and socio-political education, international understanding, in particular European unification, as well as basic, advanced and advanced training - especially in the craft sector.
