The Winkeltalbrücke is a road bridge near Bad Lauterberg in the Harz Mountains .

General

The Winkeltalbrücke is part of the traffic unit II of the federal highway 243 , which serves as a bypass . It is 650 meters long and has four lanes. The standard speed limit is 120 km / h .

history

As part of the new construction of the B 243 by August 2014, the Winkeltal Bridge and a rainwater retention basin below were built. The opening was delayed due to delays elsewhere.

In 2016, less than two years after the opening of the bypass, damage was found to the Winkeltalbrücke, which is why a speed limit of 60 km / h was introduced in the direction of Nordhausen . In the summer of 2017, the bridge in this direction of travel was even closed for a few weeks in order to repair road damage.
