Winoa is a French company and the world's largest manufacturer of steel abrasives (trade name W Abrasives ). In 1961, Winoa was founded as Wheelabrator Allevard , a joint venture between Wendel and the American Wheelabrator . At the end of 2013 the company was taken over by KKR .

In 2014, the European Commission fined Winoa € 27.5 million for participating in a cartel.
