from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ramescher nature reserve is located in northwest Luxembourg, west of the town of Troine and north of Wincrange , the area was placed under protection on February 11, 1993.

location

It lies at an altitude of between 440 and 495 m above sea level. It has a size of 62.70 hectares. An asphalt farm road running right through the nature reserve cuts the wetland into a northern and southern part.

Geology, geomorphology and soils

The nature reserve is by slate of Devon coined. Along the streams there are soils on alluvium , which have a high clay content and are waterlogged. This are all year sickernasse Gleye , Pseudogley , easy half-bog soils and fen soils before. They have been taken out of agricultural use due to poor drainage and heavy processing. There are two source streams in the "Ramescher" NSG: In the south the Ramescherbach rises with a slight gradient , flows further to the northeast, meets the Trëtterbach and drains to the east.

Protection purpose

The nature reserve serves to preserve and develop the wet meadows with grass turf and as an important habitat for birds. Different wet meadows have developed on the acidic parent rock , which are rich in species with protected plants and animals, in particular birds such as the black stork , hen harrier , red-backed killer and gray wagtail .

Plants and animals

Rush meadows are typical of the wet and wet grassland in the Ösling . They colonize moist to wet, well-drained, oozing, nutrient-poor and base-poor soils. The pointed-flowered bulrush finds ideal conditions in the water-permeated location, so that it is stand-forming and takes up most of the wet areas. Other similarly occurring plants are the gray sedge , the brown sedge , the marsh blood-eye , the broad-leaved orchid , the swamp violet and the marsh horn clover . The knotweed community also occupies damp and wet meadows. In addition to snake knotweed, grass loaf , swamp thistle , bog bedstraw and wild angelica grow here .
