Winzenhofen is part of the community Schöntal in Hohenlohekreis ( Baden-Württemberg ) and is located in the Jagsttal between Krautheim and Schöntal Abbey .

history

According to the local chronicle, the name Winzenhofen goes back to the founder of the settlement, a Franconian farmer's son named "Winzo" or "Winizo".
In historical mentions around 1050, the village is still called Winzinhoffin.
On January 1, 1973, Winzenhofen, which previously belonged to the northern Baden district of Buchen , was incorporated into the community of Schöntal.

Public facilities

The Winizo-Bürgerhalle, often referred to as the " New School ", is a school building from the 1960s, which can be found in the center of what is now Winzenhofen. It serves as the seat of the local administration, as a multi-purpose hall, general meeting point and as a clubhouse for various local clubs. There is also a children's playground nearby.
There is also a public bathing area on the Jagst, as well as a barbecue hut in the former vineyards above Winzenhofen, called "the 8-cornered house".
The youth center, which is run by the KLJB Winzenhofen, acts as a meeting point and center for teenagers and young adults.
