A seesaw is a rocking device , mostly in children's playgrounds . It consists of an upright stand, about at head height of the players, with a bar that can be rotated in a horizontal plane, with handles at the ends. Rockers with a lower height only consist of a rotatable board to step on, similar to a sling board in an artistic environment.

safety

Seesaws that are in publicly accessible areas must (like all other playground equipment) comply with the playground equipment standard EN 1176.

In the United States, the rockers are mostly today for security in the place rocking mounts kicked.

Gigampfi

In southern Germany and Switzerland, the seesaw is also called gigampfi, swinging on it is called gigampfen.
