We Germans (alternative title: A journey to the scenes of the past ) is a documentary series on German history that has been broadcast on ARD programs since 1991 .

The story series tells the story of the Germans in a condensed form. It begins with the battle in the Teutoburg Forest and ends with the abdication of the last German Emperor in 1918. The presentation does not focus on figures, but on the deeper connections between the events and causes.
