Jonas Hassen Per Younes Khemiri (born December 27, 1978 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish writer .

Life

Khemiri has a Swedish mother and a Tunisian father. His younger brother Hamadi Khemiri is an actor . Khemiri studied literature and international economics in Stockholm and Paris .

He made his debut as a writer in 2003 with the novel Ett öga rött ( The camel without a hump ). The book was translated into several languages, adapted for the theater and filmed in 2007 . In Stockholm stadsteater Khemiri debut play was invading! Directed by Farnaz Arbabi from March 2006 to late January 2008 . In 2008 Fem gånger Gud was premiered at the “Regionteatern” in Växjö .

In 2006 he was nominated for the August Prize for his novel Montecore - en unik tiger in the fiction category. In 2008 he won the Swedish Radio Novel Prize for his novel Montecore .

From April 2011 to December 2012 his play Vi som är hundra ( We Are Hundred ) was performed for the first time in Germany in the Hamburg Thalia Theater .
