Ett öga rött is a Swedish television film from 2007 directed by Daniel Valentin and based on the novel by Jonas Hassen Khemiris of the same name. Among others, Youssef Skhayri , Hassan Brijany and Anbar Albayati star in the film.

The 15-year-old Halim lives with his parents, who come from Morocco , in Södermalm in Stockholm . After his mother's death, his father decides to move and leave behind the old memories of Morocco they had in their old apartment : he wants Halim to speak only Swedish from now on , cook Swedish food and listen to Swedish music. Halim, however, saw through the Swedish integration plan, which aims to turn all immigrants into Swedes . He wants to prevent that and get his father not to forget his Arab roots.

Ett öga rött was produced by Fredrik Wikström for Tre Vänner AB. The film was shot between August 1 and October 10, 2006 in Trollhättan and Stockholm based on a script by Karin Arrhenius, Wallentin and Wikström. It was recorded by Ari Willey and edited by Bernhard Winkler, Robin Siwe and Wallentin. The music was composed by Johan Testad.

The film premiered at Malmö Filmdagar in August 2007 and had its cinema premiere on September 7, 2007. It was released on DVD on November 28, 2007. Swedish television showed the film on December 6, 2013 on SVT1 .

The film has an average rating of 3.3 / 5 on Critics.se, based on 18 reviews. It received the highest rating from Aftonbladet, Cinema, Dalarnas Tidningar, and Moviezine (all 4/5) and the lowest from municipal workers (2/5).

The film received a special mention in 2008 at the Nordic Film Days Lübeck . Hassan Brijany was awarded a guldbagge in 2008 for best supporting actor. The film was also nominated for the Biopublikens Award.
