Economic Guild

The association “Wirtschaftsgilde e. V. - Evangelical Working Group for Business Ethics and Social Design “ is an association of people who want to live up to their personal responsibility and their social obligations based on a Christian orientation.

history

The economic guild was founded in 1948 as an association of Protestant entrepreneurs, executives and freelancers at the Evangelical Academy Bad Boll with the aim of promoting the dialogue between representatives of church and business as well as social groups about the necessary reconstruction in destroyed post-war Germany. The beginnings of the social market economy go back to such encounters. The association is a non-profit recognized, registered association based in Stuttgart.

aims

The economic guild deals with questions of economic and social policy, the underlying developments and the intellectual situation of the time in order to give orientation to the members and the society. In order to achieve these goals, there are four events per year: the winter conference in Sils Maria (Upper Engadine), the summer conference in Oberstdorf , the annual conference in Bad Boll and the autumn excursion to constantly changing regions.

structure

The business guild is run by a board of directors, which has 5 members. Burkhard Thost is the chairman; his deputy is Falk Schöller. In addition, there is an advisory board which, in addition to the board, includes the speakers of the regional groups, a regulatory adviser and two theological advisors. There are currently the following regional groups: Stuttgart I, Stuttgart II, Neckar-Rhein-Main, Rhineland-Westphalia, Munich, Ulm. The business guild works closely with the Evangelical Academy Bad Boll and is a corporate member of the German Network for Business Ethics. V. (DNWE) and at Transparency International , Deutsches Chapter e. V.

The website of the Economic Guild contains publications by scientists who have appeared at the Economic Guild's meetings. This collection of fonts is constantly being updated.
