Wirtschaftsjunioren Deutschland ( WJD ) is the largest association of young entrepreneurs and managers in Germany .

aims

The members come from all areas of the economy. Through their joint commitment, they want to increase the acceptance for entrepreneurial action in Germany. The Wirtschaftsjunioren want to play an active role in shaping the economic and social policy of the Federal Republic of Germany in a united Europe in order to secure Germany's long-term competitiveness worldwide. The organization stands for the democratic constitutional state as a prerequisite for the market economy with the obligation to social and ecological responsibility. The Wirtschaftsjunioren are committed to ensuring that Germany remains a reliable member of the international community.

organization

Anyone who is self-employed , works in a management position or aspires to do so and is under 40 years of age can become a member of the WJD . The association has more than 10,000 active members under the age of 40 and over 7,000 supporting members.

The WJD association is one of over 100 national associations that are organized in the world association “ Junior Chamber International (JCI)”. The JCI comprises around 8,600 junior circles and has around 200,000 members in 104 countries. In Austria, for example, this is the young economy .

The German association was founded in 1954. It is divided into 11 regional associations, to which in turn more than 210 district associations belong. There are the regional associations of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Berlin-Brandenburg, Hanseatic Region, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia.

The highest body of the junior groups is the federal delegate assembly, which meets twice a year. Its members are the district spokespersons elected for one year by the 215 districts. The management of the district associations is usually carried out by a managing director appointed by the respective chamber of industry and commerce. The management of the Wirtschaftsjunioren Deutschland is appointed by the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in Berlin with the consent of the Federal Chairman. Deserved WJD members can be appointed JCI Senators by JCI and thus remain lifelong connected to one another in a worldwide network. The highest national award for outstanding voluntary commitment is the Golden Juniorennadel of the Wirtschaftsjunioren Germany.
