The federal organization is located in the Austrian Chamber of Commerce , the JW regional organizations in the respective nine regional chambers. There are also 100 district and project groups.

For its members, the Junge Wirtschaft is at the same time a representation of interests, a competent service provider and a network platform.

The young economy as a lobby group

As a representative of the interests of young Austrian entrepreneurs, the Junge Wirtschaft is committed to ensuring that young self-employed and managers have the best possible framework for their work. With the initiatives of its current promotional program, the Junge Wirtschaft wants to make entrepreneurship easier in Austria, give society more courage to be entrepreneurial and secure the intergenerational contract. At the same time, with its work, the JW ensures that Austria's young entrepreneurs are heard by politicians and thus the necessary spaces for innovation, creativity and cooperation are created.

The services of the young economy

The young entrepreneur portal offers news on relevant topics for young entrepreneurs, a calendar of JW events in Austria and surveys on current economic and political issues. In addition, it provides specific information on financing or co-working spaces throughout Austria.

The young economy as a network

The nine national organizations, 100 district and project groups offer young self-employed people and managers a platform for exchanging experiences and networking at the around 600 annual events. In addition, the Junge Wirtschaft organizes the annual JW Summit and numerous networking opportunities at international level.

In addition to national and regional events, the Junge Wirtschaft offers its members various international opportunities to exchange experiences, for further training and also the chance to get in touch with entrepreneurs from all over the world.

The Junge Wirtschaft is one of 100 national associations of the world association Junior Chamber International (JCI), an international network of organizations for people between 18 and 40 with members from 104 countries. The common goal is to change the world positively as active, young entrepreneurs.

The program also includes visits to accelerators , start-up incubators and investors.

Campaigns of the young economy

Artificial Intelligence Roadshow (2019)

With the "Artificial Intelligence Roadshow" taking place in the first half of 2019, the Junge Wirtschaft is trying to make its members all over Austria the focus of attention for the opportunities and possibilities offered by artificial intelligence (AI). In cooperation with the association AI Austria, concrete implementation options and ideas for young self-employed people will be presented at the stops in all federal states, such as how AI can already be integrated into everyday work. As part of the roadshow, numerous practical application examples from companies in the regions whose business models are based on artificial intelligence will be presented.

Mission: Broadband (2017)

In 2017, with the “Mission: Broadband”, the Junge Wirtschaft drew attention to the fact that Austria is far behind in terms of nationwide broadband coverage in an international comparison. Around 2/3 of the 330,000 domestic SMEs did not have fast internet access in 2017. This campaign showed why fast internet is necessary for Austria as a business location and why time is of the essence. In addition to more than a thousand private supporters, the campaign was able to win prominent testimonials such as Dorothee Ritz, Florian Gschwandtner , Andreas Bierwirth and the then Minister of Economics, Harald Mahrer .

In November 2017, the mission was: Broadband in the government program of the Federal Government Short I added.

Partner State (2015-2016)

In 2015 and 2016, the Junge Wirtschaft ran a campaign based on its “partner state” concept. In doing so, she addressed the vision of a lean state that acts as a so-called "enabler" - in contrast to a "patronizing and over-regulating superfather". The focus of the concept was on strengthening the individual responsibility in society.

In the course of the campaign around the “partner state” concept, a book was published in September 2016 with the title “Location Austria. More courage to take the lead ”published. Three fields of action of the concept - education, start-ups, bureaucracy - are discussed with prominent representatives from Austria's economy, politics and society. The interviewees included Sabine Herlitschka, Doris Hummer, Harald Mahrer, Andreas Salcher, Georg Pölzl and Richard Grasl.
