After changing jobs in various companies, Gschwandtner started his first full-time position at the software company NTS in 2009, which he soon gave up.

Runtastic

In October 2009 Gschwandtner founded the health and fitness company Runtastic with his three colleagues Christian Kaar, Alfred Luger and René Giretzlehner and one other employee. Since October 2017, Gschwandtner has been working as a consultant for the Austrian federal government on the subject of digitization and innovation. On September 24, 2018, his autobiography So Runs Start-up was published by Ecowin-Verlag. At the end of the same year, Gschwandtner withdrew from the Runtastic company.

Investment activity

With the proceeds from the sale of Runtastic, Gschwandtner soon began to invest in other start-up companies . Together with the other founders of Runtastic, he founded 8eyes GmbH for this purpose, in which he holds 25%. This has invested in the startups Cashpresso, Hello Again, Mimo and Storyclash, among others. The company also holds shares in the startup financiers Speedinvest and Startup3000.
