The Takasaki University of Economics and Business ( Japanese 高崎 経 済 大学 , Takasaki keizai daigaku ) is a municipal university in Japan . It is located in Kaminamie-machi , Takasaki , Gunma Prefecture .
history
In 1949, the former state technical schools in Gunma Prefecture were merged to form Gunma University (headquarters: Maebashi ). However, no faculty was set up in Takasaki, which is an economic center of the prefecture. Therefore, the city administration founded its own 2-year university in 1952 - the Takasaki City Short University ( 高崎 市立 短期 大学 , Takasaki-shiritsu tanki daigaku ). It had a department (economics).
In 1957, the short university developed into the 4-year Takasaki University of Economics. At first it only had one faculty (economics). The second faculty (regional politics) has existed since 1996 and the Graduate School since 2000.
