description
The starting point for the hike is the climatic health resort Espenschied. From there, the entire length of the path can be walked on (white W on a blue background) or through a dividing point in two halves (approach: white W on a yellow background). The length of the access route is 1.5 km.
An alternative starting point is the “ Laukenmühle ” car park (not to be confused with the car park for the gastronomy of the same name) on Wispertalstrasse L 3033, which can also be easily reached by public transport.
The path leads over different heights with distant views of the Großer Feldberg , the Soonwald , the Rheinberg ruins and the valleys of the Werkerbach and the Wisper. In addition to the typical trout farm, the Wisper Valley also houses the remains of the Reich Labor Service Camp (RAD) 5/257 “Gottfried Keller” , which are under monument protection .
Connections to long-distance hiking trails
There are connections to the Wisperwanderweg and Hessenweg 4 .
