Witold Szczypiński

Witold Szczypiński (born February 7, 1955 in Sarzyna , Poland ) is the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grupa Azoty (formerly the nitrogen plant in Tarnów-Mościce SA ). Szczypiński graduated from the Silesian Technical University at the Faculty of Organization of Manufacturing in the field of industrial organization and management, specializing in the chemical industry .

Business career

He has been associated with the nitrogen works in Tarnów-Mościce SA since 1979. In the years 1979–1987 he worked in the positions: production foreman, independent technologist, specialist f. Technology in F. Dzierżyński Synthesis Works in Tarnów (currently Grupa Azoty SA). From 1987 to 1990 he was the head of the silicon department of the synthesis plant and from 1991-1999 he worked on the position of the director of the synthesis plant.

From 1997–1999 he was a representative of the nitrogen works in Tarnów-Mościce on the supervisory board of the innovation and implementation company UNISIL Sp. Z oo. From 1999–2001 he was the director of the plastics center [ Centrum Tworzyw Sztucznych ] and from 2002 to 2007 he was Director f. technological affairs and development of nitrogen plants in Tarnów-Mościce SA. From 2007–2008 he was a member of the board of directors at the Tarnów plant. In the years 2007–2008 he was a member of the board of directors of Tarnowskie Wodociągi Sp. Z oo. In 2008 he was appointed to the supervisory board of the project office of nitrogen plants “BIPROZAT” Sp. Z oo and - PKCh Sp . zoo (2008–2016), ATT Polymers GmbH (2011–2013) and Grupa Azoty ZAK SA (2012–2016).

In 2008 he was the acting chairman of the board of the nitrogen works in Tarnów-Mościce SA. In June 2008 he was appointed Deputy CEO of Grupa Azoty. Since March 2014 he has also been the General Manager of the company of Grupa Azoty SA in Tarnów. As a member of the board, he was also responsible for the integration of manufacturing, plastics, organic syntheses and sponsorship activities.

From 2011-2015 he was a member of the Scientific Council of Instytut Ciężkiej Syntezy Organicznej [Institute of Heavy Organic Synthesis] "Blachownia" in Kędzierzyn-Koźle . In 2013 he was appointed to the supervisory board of Grupa Azoty SIARKOPOL.

Scientific career

From 2011 to 2015 he was a member of Komitet Inżynierii Chemicznej i Procesowej Polskiej Akademii Nauk [Komitee f. chemical technology of the Polish Science Academy]. In 2012–2015 he was a member of the committee that worked on the strategic program of scientific research and development "Zaawansowane Technologie Pozyskiwania Energii" [Advanced Energy Production Technologies] of Narodowe Centrum Badań i Rozwoju [National Research and Development Center]. From 2007 to 2010 he was chairman of the SITPChem department in Tarnów.

He is the author or co-author of a couple of specialist projects: one of six projects that are patented relating to the manufacture of ammonia , hydrogen , carbon dioxide (for food products), polyoxymethylene , polycrystallic silicon, catalysts and infrastructure.

Private life

His father - Zbigniew Szczypiński - took part in the expansion of the nitrogen works in Tarnów in the 1960s and 1970s. Among other things, he was the technical director of the factory in Tarnów-Mościce. He is married and has a daughter. He took part in the expansion of the Tarnów plant in the 1960s and 1970s.
