Vladimir Wassiljewitsch Grischanow

Wladimir Wassiljewitsch Grischanow ( Russian Владимир Васильевич Гришанов ; born June 17, 1945 in Solovetsky , Arkhangelsk Oblast ) is a retired Russian admiral . He was the commander of the Leningrad Naval Base from 1993 to 1995.

Life

Grischanow studied from 1963 to 1968 at the Leningrad Officers' College MW Frunze . After graduation, he was employed as group commander of the combat section for electron navigation and from November 1968 as combat section commander for navigation (GA-1) of the large submarine fighter Proworny of the 21st Submarine Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet . On November 30, 1970, he became an officer on watch on this ship. From February 28, 1971 he served as GA-1 commander on the large submarine fighter Soobrasitjelny of the 150th brigade of the 30th submarine division of the Black Sea Fleet. After working as chief officer on the submarine warship Proworny , he completed advanced special courses in the navy in Leningrad from April 1973. On October 7, 1974 he became the commander of the large submarine fighter Reshitjelny of the 70th Brigade of the 30th submarine division of the Black Sea Fleet. After visiting the Seekriegsakademie August 1976 to June 1978 he was in command of the Big antisubmarine ship Kerch use. In October 1979 he became Chief of Staff of the 21st Brigade and from August 1982 commander of the 70th Brigade of the 30th Submarine Division. In June he became chief of staff and deputy commander and in September 1987 commander of the 30th submarine fighter division of the Black Sea Fleet. After he was appointed Rear Admiral on May 6, 1989, he studied from August 1990 to June 1993 at the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces . He then became Chief of Staff and Deputy Commander of the Leningrad Naval Base. By Decree No. 248 of the Defense Minister of the Russian Federation of February 27, 1993, Grizhanov became the commander of the Leningrad naval base and the commander of the Kronstadt fortress . On December 31, 1993 he was promoted to Vice Admiral and in August 1995, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces . He was promoted to admiral by decree of the President of the Russian Federation in November 1996 and retired in April 1998.

He worked from 1998 to 2000 as Vice Governor and Head of the Supreme Administrative Authority of Saint Petersburg.

Grischanow lives in Saint Petersburg, is married and has two children.
