Wladimir Wladimirowitsch Dmitrijew ( Russian Влади́мир Влади́мирович Дми́триев ; born October 12, 1957 in Kazan ) is a Russian experimental solid-state physicist known for his contributions to spin superfluidity .

Dmitriev went to school in Kazan and Moscow and received his doctorate from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1985. During this time he worked in the group of Juri Michailowitsch Bunkow at the Kapiza Institute and was involved in the discovery of spin superfluidity (as did another student Juri M. Mucharski). In 1991 he completed his habilitation (Russian doctorate). He continued to work at the Kapiza Institute, where he became the head of low temperature physics. Around 2001 he discovered spin superfluidity in helium-3-B in externally deformed airgel and in the 1980s he was also involved in the discovery of the gold clay mode in spin superfluidity.

In 2008 he received the Fritz London Memorial Prize with Igor Fomin and Juri Bunkow . In 1997 he became a corresponding and in 2011 full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences , which awarded him the Kapiza gold medal in 2019 .
