Wladislaw Glebowitsch Axelrod

Wladislaw Glebowitsch Axelrod (at the World Chess Federation FIDE Vladislav Akselrod , Russian Владислав Глебович Аксельрод ; born November 15, 1972 ) is a Russian chess player and coach.

Axelrod lives in Novosibirsk and plays in the Russian team championship for the club there. In 2001 he won the sixth round of the Russian Cup in Tomsk . Several times he won the Novosibirsk championship (for example in 2001 and 2002 and in the 2007 Open). As a chess trainer , he is Natalja Pogonina and taught at the Siberian Academy for Public Administration (SAPA) in Novosibirsk.

He has held the title of International Master since 1999 . His Elo rating is 2405 (as of July 2018), but he is listed as inactive because he has not played an Elo-rated game since a tournament in Novosibirsk in July 2016. His highest rating to date was 2446 from July 2008 to December 2009.
