The residential and commercial building Alt Fermersleben 41 is a listed building in the Magdeburg district of Fermersleben . A little further south is the similarly designed residential and commercial building Alt Fermersleben 43 .

Architecture and history

The four-storey house, located directly on the main street, was built in 1891. Until the incorporation of Fermersleben into Magdeburg in 1910, the building had the address Schönebecker Strasse 35 . The brick-built building has a representative six-axis facade in the neo-renaissance style , which is described as palazzo-like . The ground floor is rusticated , the side window axes have an aedicular frame . The windows on the first floor have triangular canopies. On the second floor, these roofs are designed as segmental arches.

The protection was justified by the fact that the building was preserved as a typical suburban house from the early days with a largely original facade effect.

At the turn of the 20th century, the master carpenter Eduard Schultz lived in the building . Later, at least from 1914 onwards, widow A. Schultz became the owner of the building. The typesetter Hermann Hottowitz ran a book and paper shop on the ground floor . At the end of the 1930s, Walter Schultz was noted as the owner of the house , who is still the owner in the post-war period. The zoological dealer Walter Bleich lived in the building .

Today (as of 2010) the building is partially empty and in need of renovation.
