The residential complex Werner-von-Siemens-Strasse 24, 26, 28 / Stubenlohstrasse 29 is a listed multi-family residential building in a reduced, historic style in the central Franconian city of Erlangen .

History and description

The development on the Ringstrasse planned in 1896 (since 1953 Werner-von-Siemens-Strasse) between the Zollhaus train station and Henkestrasse was largely completed in 1908. In the course of numerous building projects aimed at curbing the housing shortage in Erlangen after the First World War , two corner houses were built there in 1923 and 1924. In addition to the residential complex on the corner of Gabelsbergerstrasse , this was also the two-winged house Ringstrasse and Stubenlohstrasse.

The house with two front gardens , planned by the city of Erlangen and completed in 1924, has 15 three-room apartments with a size of approx. 70 m³ each. Originally, three apartments per floor were already equipped with a bathroom .

Today the building belongs to the non-profit housing association of the city of Erlangen (GEWOBAU). Apartments that become vacant are preferably available to municipal employees.
