Wojnowo (Kargowa)

Wojnowo manor

Wojnowo (German Woynowo , 1934–1945 Reckenwalde ) is a place in Poland . It is located on the Lazy Obra 8 km northwest of Kargowa . Wojnowo belongs to the large municipality of Kargowa ( Unruhstadt ) in the powiat Zielonogórski , Lebus Voivodeship .

history

In 1939 the place had 181 inhabitants. Until 1945 it belonged to Prussia . The place was originally in the district of Bomst , which belonged to Posen , and in 1938 was incorporated into the district of Züllichau-Schwiebus in the province of Brandenburg .

Prince Bernhard zur Lippe-Biesterfeld (1911–2004) lived on Gut Woynowo in his parents' house until he was twelve.
