The powiat Zielonogórski is a powiat (district) in the Polish Lebus Voivodeship with the district town of Zielona Góra (Grünberg in Silesia) . The powiat has an area of ​​1,349.75 km², with around 76,000 inhabitants (December 31, 2018).

Geographical location

The powiate surrounds the district town of Zielona Góra, which does not belong to it, but remains independent. Neighboring powiate in the north are Świebodzin , in the east Wolsztyn (already the Greater Poland Voivodeship ), in the south Nowa Sól and Żagań and in the west Krosno Odrzańskie and Żary .

Changes

Until December 31, 2014, the powiat had an area of ​​1,570.64 km², on which around 94,000 people lived (as of June 30, 2012). On January 1, 2015, the rural community of Zielona Góra was dissolved and its localities incorporated into the city of the same name.

From 1975 to 1998 the powiat belonged to the Zielona Góra ( Grünberg ) voivodeship and from 1950 to 1975 to its predecessor, which was tailored differently.

The powiat comprises nine municipalities, five of which are urban-and-rural municipalities , whose main towns of the same name have municipal rights, and four rural municipalities.
