The Gmina Czerwieńsk [ 'ʧɛrvʲɛɲsk ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Zielonogórski of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Rothenburg an der Oder ) with about 4100 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in Lower Silesia and extends on both sides of the Oder . About two thirds of its area of almost 196 km² is located south of the river. The community borders on Zielona Góra (Grünberg i. Schles.) In the southeast .
history
In 1969 Czerwieńsk was declared a town again.
