Katri Briitta Ilona Kulmuni (born September 4, 1987 in Tornio ) is a Finnish politician and was Deputy Prime Minister from September 12, 2019 to June 9, 2020 . She is the leader of the Finnish Center Party (KESK) and was Minister of Finance until June 2020 , after being Minister of Economic Affairs of the Republic of Finland from June to December 10, 2019 .

Kulmuni was elected to the Finnish Parliament in 2015 and 2019 for the Center Party in the Lapland constituency. On June 6, 2019, Kulmuni was appointed Minister of Economic Affairs in the Rinne cabinet. On September 12, 2019, she became the country's Deputy Prime Minister, succeeding Mika Lintilä (KESK). After the resignation of Prime Minister Antti Rinne , she replaced him on December 10, 2019 as Finance Minister in the Marin cabinet . Kulmuni is also chair of the Tornio City Council . Due to a controversy over consultation fees, she announced her resignation from the ministerial office on June 5, 2020. She was succeeded on June 9, 2020 by Matti Vanhanen .

As the successor to Juha Sipilä , who resigned as Prime Minister in June 2019, Kulmuni has been the party leader of the Finnish Center Party (KESK) since the beginning of September 2019. From November 2015 to June 2019 she was chairwoman of the Finnish-Russian society ( Suomi-Venäjä-Seura , SVS).

Kulmuni studied social sciences at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi . She was 2010/2011 Press Officer of Paavo Väyrynen .

Katri Kulmuni is married to Jyrki Peisa.
