Wolf-Rüdiger Schleidgen

Wolf-Rüdiger Schleidgen (born September 7, 1948 in Hagen ) is a German historian and archivist . He was head of the main state archive in Düsseldorf (2002–2008) and the project “Digital Archive NRW” (2008–2012).

Life

Schleidgen studied history and German at the universities of Bochum and Tübingen. After completing his doctorate, he completed the archival preparatory service at the archive school in Marburg from 1975 to 1977 as a trainee lawyer for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . He then began his professional career at the main state archive in Düsseldorf and in 1997 moved to the head of the Brühl civil status archive . In 2002 Schleidgen returned to the Main State Archives as archive manager. In 2008 he was transferred to the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia in order to coordinate the “Digital Archive NRW” project of the state government in a staff unit.
