Wolf Georg von Schlegel

Wolf Georg von Schlegel , also Wolff George von Schlegell , (* 1633 ; † August 8, 1710 in Wehlitz ) was heir and court lord on Wehlitz as well as senior of the knighthood and estates of the Duchy of Saxony-Merseburg on the diets of the Electorate of Saxony in Dresden .

Life

He came from the Upper Saxon noble family Schlegel, which traditionally renounced the title of nobility until the beginning of the 18th century .

Wolf Georg von Schlegel took over the manor Wehlitz in Amt Schkeuditz , which had been in the Duchy of Saxony-Merseburg since 1657. He took part in the state parliaments in Dresden several times as a representative of the knighthood and estates of the Duchy of Saxony-Merseburg. Most recently, due to his advanced age, he was a senior of the knighthood and estates.

After Wolf Georg von Schlegel died on his manor in Wehlitz in the summer of 1710, his solemn burial took place on August 11, 1710. Pastor Magister Heinrich Köppe from Schkeuditz gave the memorial sermon on September 6, 1710.

family

Wolf Georg von Schlegel married Ursula Barbara (born von Bardeleben) from the Silberlang house in the Mark Brandenburg . The mutual marriage resulted in five sons, of which the following three survived the father:

  • Carl Heinrich (* 1671) served in the war in Hungary and in 1711 was retired and honorably discharged from active service as an imperial lieutenant. He died before 1739
  • The twins Christoph Wilhelm and Georg Friedrich von Schlegel (born June 9, 1682)

Furthermore, the daughter Martha Sophia (née Schlegel), wife of Christian Christiani, leaseholder of the Manor Modelwitz, and Ursula Elisabeth Schlegel.
