The Wolfgang Koeppen Foundation , based in Greifswald , was founded on July 10, 2000 by Günter Grass and Peter Rühmkorf .

Its purpose is to keep the work of the writer Wolfgang Koeppen in memory and to support the University of Greifswald in researching and looking after his estate.
