Career
The striker Wolfgang Balzereit began his career at SC Union 06 Berlin . With Union Balzereit was in 1976 champion of the amateur league Berlin . However, the Berliners failed in the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga at SV Arminia Hannover and SC Herford . Balzereit then moved to Herford and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on August 14, 1976 in a 3-1 win against SG Wattenscheid 09 . Overall, however, he only came to five second division games in which he did not score a goal. Balzereit left Herford at the end of the season with an unknown destination.
