Wolfgang Bernhard Fränkel

Wolfgang Bernhard Fränkel (born November 11, 1795 in Bonn , † March 5, 1851 in Elberfeld ) was a German doctor and author. He took part in the Napoleonic Wars, first in Napoleon's army from 1812, then as a lieutenant in the coalition army. He then studied medicine at the University of Bonn. After graduating in 1824, he worked as a doctor in Elberfeld until his death. In 1840 he converted to Christianity and in the following years dealt as an author with the status and emancipation of the Jews. His son was the doctor and professor Bernhard Fränkel .
