Wolfgang Brameshuber (born August 2, 1956 in Mannheim ; † September 16, 2016 in Santa Teresa Gallura , Italy ) was an Austrian civil engineer living in Germany.

Live and act

Brameshuber studied civil engineering at the University of Karlsruhe . From 1981 to 1988 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Building Materials Technology at the University of Karlsruhe. In 1988 he was at Hubert K. Hilsdorf Dr.-Ing. doctorate and worked from 1989 to 1991 in building materials technology consulting for planning and execution at the engineering office BUNG, Heidelberg. He then became head of the central laboratory of Bilfinger Berger AG in Mannheim and of the building materials laboratories in Wiesbaden (foreign area) and Leipzig.

On January 1, 1999, he received a call to the chair for building materials science at RWTH Aachen and to the board of the institute for building research at RWTH Aachen. In addition, from 2010 to 2012 he was Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. Since 2008 he has also been a partner in Brameshuber + Uebachs INGENIEURE GmbH (BUI), a national and international engineering office for building damage assessment and building material technology, which continues to exist.

Brameshuber has published numerous books and publications in the field of building damage assessment and building material advice.
