Wolfgang Braun (born September 27, 1953 in Dortmund ) is a German film producer and manager .

Life

Wolfgang Braun founded on behalf of 1987 Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios , the United Cinemas International Multiplex GmbH . As managing director and CEO of the company, he built and operated the first German multiplex cinema center in Hürth near Cologne. For several years he was also the managing director of the Association of Film Distributors (VdF).

From 1992 to 2008 he was General Manager for the Cinema and Home Entertainment divisions at Walt Disney Studios in Germany. As a producer, he is responsible for successful German films such as Knockin 'on Heaven's Door or Barfuss with Til Schweiger . In 2008 he founded the independent production company MoreMovies Entertainment GmbH . On June 7th, 2009 he took over the management of the media group Kinowelt .

Awards

2008: Golden screen for special merits for “the development of the German Disney film rental company and its management over 15 years and 343 million visitors during this period”.
