Wolfgang Ebeling (mathematician)

Wolfgang Ebeling (born October 5, 1951 in Bückeburg ) is a German mathematician who deals with algebraic geometry , differential topology and singularity theory.

After graduating from high school in 1971 at what was then the ancient language state grammar school in Siegburg, Ebeling began studying mathematics with a minor in computer science at the University of Bonn in the following winter semester . In 1977 he passed his diploma examination there. Ebeling received his doctorate in 1980 at the University of Bonn under Egbert Brieskorn ( quadratic forms and monodromic groups of singularities ).

After a brief activity in the automotive industry, Ebeling was appointed Associate Professor at the Technical University of Eindhoven in 1988 . Since 1990 he has been a professor at the Leibniz University in Hanover .
